Big Differences Found in Mortality in US Groups. Great Study, but I'm sure the Republicans are Too Busy Planning Another War to Pay Attention

Interesting report on a study in Mortality among various US groups.

A few points from article:
The differences in life expectancy across that spectrum are as wide as the difference between Iceland and Uzbekistan.

Wow!
One of the reasons for the persistence of the disparities, Murray says, is that the biggest difference in mortality is seen among people in middle age. That part of the population has not been a major focus of new investment in government health programs in the past two decades.

Past two decades Past two decades... What rings a bell about that.

Oh yeah! During the past two decades the Democrats have been in control of the Congress and White House for exactly 2 years. And in those years Clinton attempted to create a national health program of sorts. And the Republicans made sure that didn't happen and fooled a lot of people into voting for them (and taxcuts for the wealthy and war) because of the effort of Bill Clinton to get middle aged people the kind of health support they need. Many middle aged people cannot afford to go to a doctor. Instead they end up in the hospital when things get too bad.

This is just one of the things that the Republican controlled Congress has done for us.
